1 Welcome, Acceptance of Agenda

The agenda was accepted without changes.

2 Introduction of ID-03

Hans-Peter Plag explained that ID-03 basically was a continuation of ST-09-02. He pointed out that to date not many of the former ST-09-02 Task team members had signed up for ID-03. Douglas Cripe commented that there was a wide variation in support from task to task. He added that the transitioning of the tasks into the new management structure may take some time.

Concerning the Task activities, Douglas Cripe pointed out that the Science and technology review of the GEO Work Plan was not among the activities of any Task, and he asked ID-03 to include this in the Task activity. Hans-Peter Plag responded that ID-03 could cover this activity.

3 ID-03 Task Sheet

Hans-Peter Plag informed the group that the draft task sheet for ID-03 is available at http://www.geo-tasks.org/id03 . He asked the group to comment on the task sheet so that is could be finalized and uploaded to the GEO Work Plan Manager at http://www.earthobservations.org/geoss_imp.php .

Action Item ID03-T1-1: The Task Team members will comment on the draft Task Sheet and send their comments to Hans-Peter Plag. Responsible: All, Deadline: 2012-02-07.

He pointed out that there was still a gap concerning the resources for ID-03. There was consensus that resources are based on EGDIA, GEOViqua, and IEEE.

Concerning Activity 1.4 (Support state-of-the-art technology in the GEOSS Common Infrastructure (GCI) and \ observation infrastructures), Michael Nyenhuis informed that there was a new EU-funded project GEOWOW, which could contribute to this activity.

Action Item ID03-T1-2: Michael Nyenhuis and Hans-Peter Plag will initiate a dialog with the leads of the GEOWOW project and solicit contributions from this project to relevant ID-03 activities. Responsible: Michael Nyenhuis, Hans-Peter Plag, Deadline: 2012-02-15.

Concerning Activity 2.1 (Devise a GEOSS Data Citation Standard), Joan Maso pointed out the GeoViqua also is discussing data citation. There is a need to link data sets to citations.

In the frame of Activity 2.2 (Develop a concept for a GEO Label), a paper needs to be ready for July 2012.

With respect to Activity 5.3 (Revolving scientific review of each Work Plan), Hans-Peter Plag asked the group members to volunteer as reviewers.

4 ID-03 Meeting at EGU

Hans-Peter Plag informed that a face2face Task Team meeting is planned to be held during the EGU Meeting in Vienna, Austria. The date and time is Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 13:30-15:00. An agenda will be made available shortly. The meeting will take place after a Splinter meeting focusing on EGIDA activities.
