Publishing New Links: Starting a new entry

Publishing a new links starts with clicking on the 'New' link and entering the anticipated name of the new link into the respective input field. For links, we also needed to identify the types of the source and target of the link. We then can click on the 'Save' button.

In the example, we have entered the name 'tsunami detection for early warning' and selected Requirement and Application as source and target, respectively. After a click on Save, we are informed that the new entry successfully has been inserted, and we can now edit this entry.

We can now complete the form. Note that partial entries can also be saved. In case you need to leave a form before finishing the complete entry, it is important to save the partial entry by clicking on the 'Save' button. Otherwise, all entered information is lost.

We first enter a concise description of the link. The description should give an account of the rationale for this link.

The information in the link value should allow the assessment of the economic and societal value of the link, if fully implemented.

In the field tagged link implementation, information on the current status of the link realization and options for improved implementation should be provided. Information on relevant observations already collected but not available for the link implementation, missing infrastructure, or available infrastructure that could be used, but is currently not used, all are important parts of the information to be provided here.

The entry definition status indicates to what extent the entry is completed. In many cases, it is safe to select initially 'Preliminary Draft' in the drop down menu (not shown).
